NYC: Chinese New Year Parade

New York is one of the best places to celebrate Chinese New Year. Chinatown’s annual Lunar New year celebration is pretty much a big street party filled with stunning visuals, cultural performances, food vendors and colorful parades. This year’s Chinese New Year falls on February 8, 2016 welcoming the Year of the Monkey.

The last time I went to NYC’s Chinese New Year Parade was three years ago, and I remember it was freezing! The parade itself was a treat and the sights and sounds were great. I loved the traditional costumes and dragon dances. The best part of going to Chinatown is treating yourself with a nice dim sum meal in one of the many Chinese restaurants after the parade.
