Hemingway Home

“Don’t you ever get the feeling that all your life is going by and you’re not taking advantage of it? Do you realize you’ve lived nearly half the time you have to live already?”  Ernest Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises

For many years I have read Hemingway novels and autobiographies, watched documentaries and movies about the legendary writer. Didn’t even occur to me that one day, I would be able to walk his footsteps around the world. As you know I can be a bit obsessive when it comes to ‘stalking my men’. Hemingway’s Spanish novels partly inspired me to go to Spain. And of course, since he lived in Key West, I followed him there too.

If you’re a fan of the man, or literature and history in general, I’d say this is definitely worth it. I’ve been to Key West numerous times but I’ve always skipped museums because to be honest, I’d rather spend my days outside. On a beach. But there comes a point in your life when you just become old and would rather go to a museum instead. Plus the fact that I’ve done pretty much everything in Key West. For a measly fee of $14, I got to literally see history.
