When I was in Athens, I was able to see the First Olympic Stadium aka the Panathenaic Stadium. It was awesome because this was where the first modern Olympic games were held in 1896.
What’s more awesome is that the stadium’s site was where the ancient games were held in honor of the Goddess Athena. The stadium was eventually rebuilt entirely in marble, the only one in the world.
