A Day Trip to Biloxi Beach

If you want to take a break from New Orlean’s Mardi Gras chaos, a quick road trip  to Biloxi beach boulevard might be good for you. If you haven’t been to Mississippi and you’re like me, who is trying to check off all 50 Sates then this is right up your alley. The trip only takes about an hour and a half and feel free to add more stopovers on the way.

Biloxi Beach

The water is not as clear as I wish it would be. I mean it’s on the Gulf Coast not Caribbean but the atmosphere was relaxing and the white sand was pristine. There are a lot of hotels in the area as well as restaurants. Beach chairs and umbrella rentals are everywhere too.

I admit I was hesitant about going to Mississippi. After all, it is the deep south we’re talking about. In the short period I was in Biloxi, I thought the people my friends and I encountered were friendly and showed us some of that southern hospitality. We didn’t venture out anywhere else except Biloxi and the Mississippi welcome center. After a relaxing day at the beach, we headed back to New Orleans.
